African Response awarded AAA EmpowerDEX rating

BRYANSTON – African Response, the most empowered market research company, has just been awarded its AAA rating by EmpowerDEX, an independent economic empowerment rating and research agency. This means that African Response is a Level Two contributor to the principles of B-BBEE.

"This is a significant achievement" states Beatrice Kubheka, Managing Director of African Response. "Black Economic Empowerment carries with it the responsibility to help transform the industry in which your organisation operates. We are very proud to be making strides in the market research industry."

As a Qualifying Small Enterprise (QSE), African Response was evaluated based on four principles of B-BBEE, namely black ownership, black management and control, black employment equity statistics and skills development.

Ratings across all of these principles were high, and particularly high on control – representation amongst top management. This is particularly relevant to the principles of B-BBEE as it means those in empowered positions actually make management decisions and are involved with the day-to-day running of the organisation. "The principles of B-BBEE are aimed at ensuring that empowerment happens on a level where there is tangible evidence of empowerment on a skills and development level. Ownership does not necessarily provide this guarantee" continues Kubheka. "At African Response we have empowerment on all levels and ensure experience in the industry is brought to certain roles and developed in other areas of the business"

Another area of high performance for African Response is that of skills transfer. "In the research industry, BEE opened a door for a great number of people" states Kubheka. "African Response is committed to transferring skills to those from entry levels into the organisation all the way to the top."
